A local man has been charged following an incident over the weekend in which he allegedly used racial slurs while making threats with a weapon.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Butler City Police, 59-year-old James Tiani, also known as Jimmy The Knife, is accused of making terroristic threats against another man Saturday on North Elm Street.
Tiani allegedly yelled vulgarity and racial slurs while accusing the other man of having him evicted from his last apartment. Police say Tiani then took out a pocket knife and approached the other man threatening to kill him. Both men then left the scene.
Police spoke to a witness who confirmed the details of the situation. Tiani was charged Sunday with a couple misdemeanors including making terroristic threats and attempted simple assault as well as harassment.
