Butler City Council has finalized a contract with one group of employees while another is very close to being complete.
Thursday night Council ratified a tentative agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #32 that would take effect retroactively from last January and go through December of 2020.
The deal will include a half percent raise for the current year and next year as well as a .75% raise in 2020. Health care contributions will increase beginning next year and pension plan requirements will change for officers hired after October of this year. Other changes were made to hazard pay, step up pay, amount of vacation and holiday sell back. The Police union has already approved this deal.
Another contract with the City Municipal Employees union was also approved by council but details were not disclosed since it has not yet been ratified by union vote.
