Health insurance coverage obtained by Pennsylvanians during the Affordable Care Act’s recent open enrollment period took effort on Tuesday.
Now, State Insurance Commissioner Jessica Altman is urging the nearly 370,000 Pennsylvania residents who signed up for health insurance to use it.
Especially, she says, for getting preventive services, which are things like vaccinations, cancer screenings, annual visit to the primary care doctor, tobacco cessation, among others.
Under the Affordable Care Act, preventive services are of no cost to the consumer.
The recent enrollment period ended Dec. 15.
