Local landowners are invited to participate in a state program designed to preserve agricultural land for future generations.
Applications to Butler County’s Farmland Preservation Program are being accepted now through Jan. 31.
After receiving the applications, the Butler County Agricultural Land Preservation Board will rank the farms on a number of established criteria and forward those at the top of the list to the state board for final approval based on available funding.
A total of 50 Butler County farms have been preserved through this program so far.
