The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will sponsor a basic boating course later this month at a local fire hall.
On Saturday, Jan. 26, interested boaters should report to the Unionville Fire Hall on Mahood Road. During the program from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., participants will learn about ways to make informed decisions on the water that will prevent injury and other conflicts.
The program is open to anyone ages 11 and older, however, those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Those attending are asked to bring drinks and lunch as well as a check or money order for $10 to cover the cost of the actual certification card. Those interested in the free course must register by Saturday, Jan. 12.
