A new Butler eatery in a unique location has been getting positive feedback from residents and businesses.
The Café at Pullman Park has been open for about two weeks as a collaborative effort between the Butler Hot Dog Shoppe and the City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds & Facilities Authority.
Each weekday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a different soup and sandwich combo is offered in the space previously set aside as the park’s souvenir stand. A grand opening event is planned for later this month, but the cafe is open while advertising and exposure are increased.
A new management service agreement between the authority and the Butler Hot Dog Shoppe is in place, pending solicitor review. It includes a $5,000 increase over last year due to added responsibilities with the café, which officials say will hopefully bring in year-round revenue to the authority.
