Although some Farm Service Agencies will reopen temporarily in the coming days, the Butler County office on Evans City Road is not one of them.
The United States Department of Agriculture announced Wednesday that 2,500 employees will be recalled to staff select offices Thursday and Friday as well as next Tuesday (1/22).
This will allow the FSA to perform certain limited services for farmers and ranchers including assistance with farm loans as well as providing tax documents necessary to meet IRS deadlines.
Although the Butler County office will not be open during that time, the Mercer County office is one of those that will be temporarily staffed during this ongoing partial shutdown of the federal government.
