A young boy from Butler will be laid to rest Friday after he was killed in what has been described as a horrific tragedy.
Mark Fike, 11, died Monday after he, and his siblings, were hit by a car while they were waiting at their school bus stop. The driver told police she was blinded by the morning sun and did not see the children. She did stop at the scene. State police have not charged her.
Fike was a fourth grade student at Summit Elementary. He was a member of the Cub Scouts. His family said Mark- also known as “Marky Sharky” loved animals of all types, but his “specialty” was bugs and he could catch them all, according to his obituary. He also enjoyed fishing.
Following a visitation, a funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Butler.
