The Butler Area School Board has given approval to a plan that will replace the Butler High School Stadium Field.
Shaw Sports was found to be the lowest of the six companies to bid on this project at a cost of just over $460,000 to remove and replace the turf field. Alternate bids were also received to cover once the old turf is removed; if it is determined that stone replacement or drainage repairs are needed. A maintenance agreement could also be activated by the district at some point in the future, if so desired.
Work is expected to begin on this project the day after graduation and be completed by the time the field is needed to begin practice for football and band this fall.
