Enrollment at Butler County’s Slippery Rock University has declined slightly for the spring semester, but data show the number of graduate and out-of-state students has increased.
According to the school, SRU opened the spring 2019 semester with 8,275 total students, which is a decrease of 93 students– or just over one percent- from last year. The number of SRU graduate students increased by 90 students- or nearly eight percent- while out-of-state enrollment increased by six students compared to last year.
Female students outnumber male students at SRU by nearly 1,500. The school say the university has also become more diverse with increases in the number of Native American, Hispanic and mixed race students.
