March is Women’s History Month and Slippery Rock University is marking the occasion with a number of special events.
SRU’s The Women’s Center hosts multiple events throughout the year but the events planned for this month will focus on this year’s theme of “Generating Waves of Empowerment”.
Those events include presentations, discussions, film screenings, workshops, speakers, and performances as well as an interactive program March 20th in the Smith Student Center titled “Together We Rise: A Celebration of Womanhood”.
Also, the President’s Commission on Women and the Gender Studies Program is accepting nominations for the Women of Distinction Award now through April 22nd. Visit the SRU website to learn more or complete an online nomination form.
