Republican party officials have selected former State Senator Don White’s chief of staff to run in the special election to fill the 41st district seat.
Joe Pittman was unanimously selected by Republican party officials from Butler and three neighboring counties. He will run against Democrat Susan Boser in the special election- which has been set for this year’s primary on May 21.
Senator White retired in February.
The state’s 41st senatorial district includes parts of Butler, Armstrong, Indiana and Westmoreland counties.
