We are inching closer to census time, and Pennsylvania is doing its part to prepare- which includes opening nine offices in the state, including one in Cranberry Township.
The census office will open next week at a space along Executive Drive. The office will be supported by advertising and communication campaigns to increase awareness and participation in the count.
State officials contend census results have a major impact on Congressional representation and allocations of federal funds. Private businesses also make use of census data in establishing site locations and formulating marketing plans.
A grand-opening kickoff event will be held on Friday, April 5. County and township officials are expected to attend.
Butler County’s population during the last census in 2010 was just under 184,000 people.
