If you’re heading to the Pittsburgh Pirates home opener on Monday afternoon, you might- literally- hit some roadblocks on the way to the ballpark.
The Pirates released a statement Sunday saying several PennDOT projects and lane closures around the region could cause some headaches for fans.
On the Parkway North (I-279), fans will be able to use the HOV lanes today but those lanes will close starting Tuesday for a long-term construction project.
Road closures around the baseball field include the 9th Street Bridge, West Ohio Street Bridge and the General Robinson lane restriction to Route 28. The Roberto Clemente Bridge will close at 9 a.m. to vehicular traffic to allow for pedestrians.
The gates at PNC Park are scheduled to open at 11 a.m. The game begins at 1 p.m.
It will be broadcast on Butler Radio’s WISR 680AM, online at wisr680.com, and on our free mobile smartphone app.
