As we inch closer to the May primary election, there has been some changes to who county voters can elect to be the next judge on the Butler County Court of Common Pleas.
There are now four candidates in the running- Matthew Fischer, Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale, William Robinson and Nicole Thurner.
At one point in the race there were six candidates, but attorney Tom Breth dropped out earlier this year and Assistant District Attorney Terri Schultz did not file her paperwork in time, according to the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Another change has to do with the candidate Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale, who will now have her residency listed as Seven Fields rather than Cranberry Township following a judge’s ruling on Monday.
The primary election will be on Tuesday, May 21.
