A Kittanning man is in jail after police allege he was caught driving under the influence in Butler County, which marked his 4th DUI in seven months. After being arrested for the 4th time, the male in question was then taken to a local police station and underwent a five panel drug test to see what drugs were in his system.
Joshua Heigley, 35, is accused of driving more than 100 mile per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone on Route 422 in Summit Township, Butler County. When a state police trooper pulled him over, Heigley is accused of having an open container of alcohol and two small children in his backseat. Whilst in other cases a legal council may point out that law enforcement did not stick to protocol, this case seems to be very different. The arrest happened on March 17.
Joashia Heighley will now have to stand against the charges regarding the DUI and will have access to legal assistance similar to those found on SimonAttorneys.com to ensure fair proceedings. It is unknown which way he will plead at this time. Since this is his fourth offense, he may be facing serious charges against him, including having his license suspended. Depending on the course of his trial, if he wishes to reinstate his driver’s license, he may have to seek out SR22 insurance paying the amount the insurance costs so he can drive legally once again.
Heigley was due in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. He remains in the Butler County Prison on $250,000 bond.
