Unfortunately, there has been an increase in the number of child abuse cases in the area over the last few years. This is obviously indefensible and those who carry out child abuse should be charged to the fullest extent of the law. While the number of reported child sexual abuse cases has decreased, the number of physical abuse reports has climbed.
If you’re a parent, your number one priority should be protecting and loving your child so the fact that there are some who are abusing their child is disgusting. Of course, if you’re a parent who notices your spouse abusing your child, you should take immediate action. Take your child away from your house, look into what do judges look for in child custody cases, and go to the authorities. It’s a very difficult situation to be in but you must always put your child first.
The local community has been looking for new ways to raise awareness of the current child abuse issue and they think the more eye-catching their campaign is, the better. There is a special reason for a large number of pinwheels recently put up in a few spots around the Butler area by a local organization.
Members of Butler A.M. Rotary took time earlier this week to plant 140 pinwheels at the Alameda Park sign in Butler Township, a flower bed on New Castle Road in Butler, and another area at the end of South Main Street in Butler.
The pinwheels were placed as a show of support for the Victim Outreach Intervention Center during National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
