Area residents who are looking to make an impact in their community are encouraged to participate in the Great American Clean-up of PA.
Butler Township officials recently announced that the municipality will once again participate in the event, which runs through May 31st. According to 2018 data, all 67 counties in the state were represented last year, and volunteers collected over 6.6 million pounds of trash. A total of 10,979 trees, bulbs, and plants were also planted.
Officials say that the township will provide gloves, safety vests and trash bags for groups, and will also assist with the logistics for bag pickups.
Anyone interested in doing clean-up along any of the roadways in Butler Township can register by contacting the Township Administration Building by phone at 724-283-3430 x 212, or by emailing [email protected].
