Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have decreased for the second week in a row.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler is $3.04 per gallon. That’s a nickel cheaper per gallon than last week.
As for western Pennsylvania as a whole, prices are about two cents cheaper this week averaging $3.06 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $2.84 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.16 in Kittanning.
Today’s national average of $2.85 is seven cents cheaper than one year ago. Prices could increase heading into the Memorial Day weekend travel period as concerns remain due to rising global oil supply tensions, according to officials.
