AAA is reminding drivers that we’re entering the peak time of year for deer collisions.
With the cooler weather and shorter days, that means more deer are crossing Pennsylvania roads. AAA data shows that number of deer collisions increase in October, and then peak in November and December.
They encourage you to pay attention to the road, and look for road signs that show deer crossing areas. They also say to be especially careful in the early morning and evening hours.
Last year, there were more than 4,300 deer-vehicle crashes in Pennsylvania according to PennDOT.
