Transportation officials are warning that as summer travel continues, that drivers are aware of the state’s new “move over” law.
After the recent death of a AAA worker on an Ohio highway, company spokeswoman Kathleen Zinszer says it’s important people be cautious when driving by emergency situations.
“Drivers really, really need to pay attention, eliminate all distractions, and make sure that when they’re coming toward someone responding on the side of the road, they need to slow down. And if they’re able to move over one lane, they need to do so” Zinszer said.
Those caught violating the state’s move over law could face a fine up to $500 for their first offense.
