It’s now been one year since Pennsylvania adopted the new Move Over Law, requiring drivers to merge into a lane further away from an emergency response of the side of the road.
AAA is reminding drivers about the fines associated with violating the law. There’s a $500 penalty for a first-time offender, $1,000 for the second time, and a $2,000 fine for third-time offenders.
However, if you kill or injure a first responder or person in a disabled vehicle, you face a $10,000 fine.
AAA also says if you are stranded in a disabled vehicle on the side of the road to call authorities and get to a safe space.
