AAA is reminding motorists that hanging anything from rearview mirrors, including protective masks, is a safety hazard.
Even though some drivers keep masks handy when they are not being worn by hanging them off a mirror, this also could block the ability to see through the entire windshield leading to dangerous situations.
Masks are equally as convenient when they are stored in glove boxes, middle consoles, or on a seat.
In Pennsylvania, it is against the law to operate a vehicle with anything hanging from the rearview mirror, plus a partially obstructed field of vision could result in missing a sign, animal, motorcycle, or pedestrian.
