With another school district beginning the school year, AAA is reminding drivers to take it easy on the road.
Jana Tidwell is with the travel agency and she encourages drivers to be alert when they hit the roads this fall.
“The next few weeks will be a period of re-adjustment. Not just for students who are returning to school, but for motorists who will be out on the road with school buses and with increased student pedestrians and students biking to school,” Tidwell said. “So, we need to rewire our brains and understand school zones and understand the traffic around those school zones.”
Tidwell also reminds drivers that they must stop at least 10 feet away from a school bus when its red lights are flashing and its stop arm is extended.
