The federal government has added to the numerous charges facing a Butler County couple.
The United States Department of Justice has added additional charges of conspiracy and filing false tax returns against Stephanie and Scott Roskovski.
Along with previous charges of mail fraud, embezzlement, and money laundering made public last month, these new charges bring the total number in the indictment against the pair to 42. The Roskovskis are still facing a maximum sentence of more than 30 years in prison, a fine of over $3 million, or both.
The pair entered a plea of not guilty in a Pittsburgh courtroom last month and are currently free on bond. The couple is accused of embezzling $1.3 million from Butler Health System between 2011 and 2017. During much of that time, Stephanie Roskovski was employed as the hospital’s Chief Operating Officer. Scott Roskovski was employed as a detective with the Butler County District Attorney’s Office where he conducted investigations involving fraud and other financial crimes.
