Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Agriculture continues to make his case to raise the dog license fee.
Russell Redding says he wants to raise the fee from $6.50 to $10 in order to fund the Bureau of Dog Enforcement.
“When the bureau is unable to perform the tasks, then it costs the counties, municipalities, and local law enforcement because they’re called upon to respond to vicious dog attacks, stray dogs, and much more,” Redding said.
The last time the fee was raised was 1997. Redding also notes the bureau has grown larger since that time.
