The state attorney general is warning residents about an ongoing text messaging scam.
Dave Sunday says his office has received numerous complaints about getting suspicious text messages that appear to be from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
In the text, the scammers threaten to report a driver to the DMV violation database or to suspend your license and registration. The text always contains a link to pay.
Sunday says do not click on the link and to report the message as spam.
