The state’s attorney general says there is a growing shortage of police officers in Pennsylvania.
Josh Shapiro was in Philadelphia yesterday and said that right now, there are more than 1,200 vacancies across the state.
The Philadelphia police commissioner said that a combination of a rise in crime and staffing shortages has led to burnout.
She also said that more money could be an incentive to get more police officers, but any additional money needs to be approved by lawmakers in Harrisburg.
