The number of COVID cases for those 65 and older have dropped significantly since the beginning of the year.
According to the latest data from the Department of Health, only 9 percent of COVID cases in Pennsylvania during the month of May have been with those 65 and older.
Back in January, that number was at 17 percent. Health experts cite the widespread vaccination of that population as a reason for the decline.
Now, 25 to 49 year olds make up a majority of the infections—accounting for 38 percent of new cases.
