As the vaccine rollout continues in Butler, our newsroom has received a number of calls from people wondering how they can schedule a vaccine appointment if they don’t have access to the internet.
The Butler County Area Agency on Aging is now providing a service that will do just that.
The director of the agency, Beth Herold, told our newsroom that if you don’t have access to the internet, that you can call their office to start the process.
“Now if they don’t have a computer, and don’t have anybody that can help them with the technology, they can call us and then once we’re able to get in we can register them and get them assist with getting the timeslot,” Herald said.
She added that people will need to be flexible with scheduling appointments because of the limited supply of vaccine.
“As right now, the hospital is getting a vaccine. But let’s say Giant Eagle opens up and they have it, we may reach out to Giant Eagle and say ‘Hey we’ve got these people here, how can we work with you to get them registered?,'” Herold said.
“We just don’t have any vaccine, we have to work with community providers that get vaccine.”
Herold also says that if family or close friends can help an elderly relative to register online, that is still the preferred method.
Herold is asking people to be patient with the process as it continues to develop. You can call the agency at 724-282-3008 to learn more.
