A lawsuit from Pennsylvania’s attorney general against a major student loan company is allowed to move forward.
The Navient Corporation sought to have a lawsuit filed by Josh Shapiro dismissed, but that was rejected this week by the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
Shapiro is arguing that Navient is engaged in unfair and deceptive practices against student loan customers. He says they don’t offer proper repayment plans to students.
Navient is the second-largest servicer of federal and private student loans in the U.S.
