Albert James Martsolf, Jr., 76, of Butler, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 23, 1944 in Butler, PA, the son of the late Albert J. Martsolf, Sr. and Mary (Welsh) Martsolf.
Albert was a graduate of the South Butler School District. He was a member of IBEW#10, working as an electrician for 45 years, retiring in 2009. Albert was a former Director and member of the Butler Farm Show. He worked tirelessly at the Butler Fair Grange building for years and also belonged to the Jefferson Grange #1373 for 55 years where he served in many different offices. He also belonged to the Butler Co. Pomona Grange #17 and PA State Grange and National Grange. He had received all 7 degrees of the grange and awarded Butler Co. Pomona Granger of the Year in 2001 and the Community Service award in 2010.
Surviving are his childhood sweetheart and loving wife whom he married June 22, 1963, Nettie A. (Gross) Martsolf of Butler; 2 sons, Scott J. Martsolf and his wife Mary Beth (Filges) of Butler and Todd A. Martsolf and his wife, Tina (Harvey) of Cabot; Also surviving are the joy of his life, his two grandchildren, granddaughter, Chelsea Cirrincione and her husband, Nick and their son, great grandson, 3 month old Gavin Michael and grandson, Cody A. Martsolf; sister, Alice Fay Tayman and her husband Harry; brother, Alfred W. Martsolf and his wife, Millie; sister-in-law, Betty Gross Hicks and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Albert is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Elmina Facemire, Margaret Dyer and Caroline Hay.
Private family services will be held.
