Aric Almirola was the surprise winner of the Nascar Cup Series race at New Hampshire Sunday. The race was delayed nearly two hours due to rain, then shortened by 10 laps due to darkness. Almirola entered the race 27th in the point standings, but gave Stewart-Haas Racing their first team victory of the year. It was Almirola’s first win since 2018 and third of his career. He had achieved only two top 10 finishes this season, but held off Christopher Bell for the win and clinch a playoff spot.
