After Governor Josh Shaprio signed legislation into law that created a Alzheimer Disease Division, the group held their first event late last week.
The Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Division of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging held its first virtual forum in which it discussed brain health and taking care of your brain as you age.
The virtual forum that will be held every year will look to support older adults living with the disease and their caregivers.
According to the officials, more than 280,000 Pennsylvania’s live with Alzheimer’s, there was 822 million hours of unpaid care given, and in 2021 there was 4,100 deaths from Alzheimer’s.
