The end of Daylight Saving Time coincides with the beginning of colder weather and home heating season.
In order to help prevent home fires, residents should take this opportunity to test smoke alarms by pushing the button. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and replace batteries if needed.
Every level of a home should have at least one smoke detector especially inside and outside of bedrooms. Also, smoke alarms ten years or older need to be replaced.
