Anabel Brunermer, 95, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 21, 2022, at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 1, 1927, in Connoquenessing, Pennsylvania to the late Edgar L Lind and the late Catherine E. Hilliard.
Anabel graduated from Butler High School. She worked as a secretary at Vogeley Insurance Agency Inc. Anabel spearheaded the movement in 1971 to bring 911 service to Butler County. She was active in GFWC at the local, regional, and state levels for 65 years, and served in numerous executive committee positions. Anabel sat as a board member for the American Cancer Society, the March of Dimes, the Butler County Symphony, and the Visiting Nurses Association. She was the recipient of the 1998 Annual Senior DSA Award, MADD Award for outstanding dedication to the community, and the Soroptomist’s Woman of Distinction Award in 2004. Anabel was an active member of the Bethany United Church of Christ and of Christ Outreach Church.
Anabel is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey L. (Barb) Brunermer of Millsboro, DE, Kenneth C. (Lisa) Brunermer of Georgetown, PA; four grandchildren, Katie Brunermer, Stephanie Brunermer, Jeffrey C. (Christine) Brunermer, and Michael (Marah) Brunermer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl S. Brunermer, who she married on November 20, 1948, and who passed away October 30, 2011.
Friends will be received Sunday, November 27, 2022, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, 11:00 am at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home Inc., 124 East North St. Butler, PA, with Pastor John Neyman officiating.
Burial will take place in the Butler County Memorial Park.
