A Butler County farm is one of 30 across the state to be protected through a program preserving agricultural land for future generations.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, the Foertsch Farm is the latest that will be safeguarded through the Farmland Preservation Program.
This 102 acre crop and livestock operation will now be protected from future residential, commercial, or industrial development in order to preserve the future of farming and food security in the state.
Over 50 Butler County farms have been preserved through this program so far.
