Free naloxone will be given away again today as part of the state’s effort to prevent opioid deaths.
The distribution will happen at the Butler County State Health Center inside the Monarch Building on Brugh Avenue until 3 p.m.
Naloxone—which is better known by its brand name, Narcan—is used to reverse an overdose caused by an opioid by blocking the effects of the opioids to the brain.
