It was cold on Monday morning- zero degrees at 6 a.m. in the city of Butler- but that will pale in comparison to what residents will be dealing with later this week.
Temperatures on Monday are expected to rebound quickly- reaching into the mid-30s by the afternoon. But after bed time, a rain and snow mixture will make its way into the area, leaving a couple inches of snow behind by Tuesday’s end.
And then comes the cold. Temperatures are expected to dip below freezing Tuesday night, and Wednesday’s high will only be 2 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. On Wednesday night, residents can expect a low of -10. And that’s the actual air temperature. It will feel much colder when you factor in the wind.
Partly sunny and cold conditions will linger into Thursday, with a high of 5 and a low of -4.
A warm-up is expected by the weekend.
