The Adams Area Fire District received a $1,000 donation from Armco Credit Union.
The gift is in support of the all-volunteer group and Adams Township community.
“We appreciate the dedication of our local volunteer firemen who serve, protect and educate the community,” Michele Jurysta, company spokesperson, said.
The Adams Area Fire District currently has 80 active volunteers and 140 life-long members. Their services include fire suppression, medical “first response,” vehicle and technical rescue, truck company, engine company, and operational hazardous material. They provide inspections, Knox Box and educational community programs.
Armco officials presented the donation after celebrating a month of being open at their new Mars location, located on Route 228.
