Nurses at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital have temporarily walked off the job.
The work stoppage began early Sunday morning. It is anticipated that nurses will return to work on Friday morning.
The nurses overwhelmingly rejected the hospital’s latest contract offer that they say only had slight changes compared to previous deals.
They say the hospital is “refusing to invest in effective nursing retention efforts.” Nurses also say that more than 40 of their colleagues have left the ACMH in the past year to other jobs with higher pay.
