If you’re watching the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea and you have Armstrong Cable, you can watch some events in 4K.
Armstrong said 4K coverage will be available on delay on channel 200 from the hockey, figure skating, short track speed skating, ski jumping and snowboard competitions.
Armstrong’s Chief Technology Officer Michael Giobbi said this is the first time the Olympics are being broadcast in 4K High Dynamic Range.
Armstrong customers who want to access the Olympics in 4K will need a 4K capable TV, EXP and a special box.
“For the first time, the Olympics will be broadcast in 4K High Dynamic Range,” said Michael L. Giobbi, Chief Technology Officer. “This technology displays images at over 8 million pixels allowing for higher resolution and greater range of color and contrast.”
Armstrong provides television, high-speed internet and telephone service to residential and commercial customers in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Maryland, and as of Q2 2017 is America’s 10th largest cable television provider, according to SNL Kagan, an offering from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
