Armstrong is unveiling a new and faster broadband network.
Officials with the company gathered yesterday at the Regional Learning Alliance in Cranberry to showcase the new 10G network.
Armstrong President Jeff Ross says this new network will make internet connectivity faster in the region and hopes that leads to economic growth.
“This technology really enables future services around education and telemedicine. It’s critical infrastructure that will make Butler County one of the highest tech communities in the nation,” Ross said.
Ross says 10G is currently available to 15,000 homes in southern Butler County, but they have plans to grow that number quickly.
“We’re expanding beyond the 15,000. We’ll have all of the Cranberry, Mars, and Adams Township area done within the next year,” Ross said. “We’re moving north in Butler as well.”
During the event, guests had a chance to see the faster network in action by trying out e-sports, virtual reality, and its impact on telehealth.
