A pioneer of the cable television industry in Butler has died.
Jay Sedwick passed away this past Monday evening.
Sedwick was the chairman of the Armstrong Group and was heavily involved in the company’s development of local cable TV.
He joined the company in the 1960s at the beckoning of his father Jud. He then took his experience in electrical engineering to help bring cable TV to Butler using vacuum tube amplifiers and coaxial cable.
He would continue to expand Armstrong’s footprint and company’s vision by venturing into fiber optics and broadband internet.
Sedwick was 88.
