Arthur G. Lazar passed peacefully at UPMC Passavant McCandless on August 10,2023. He was born in Clairton, PA on November 24,1934. He was the son of John Lazar and the former Frances V. Conesky. He worked as a caretaker for many years for H.H. Phillips families in Butler managing many properties in the Butler area. He worked in the furnace and sheet metal industries. Before retiring, He also worked for Armstrong cement. The greatest vocation he had was that of a singer and musician. Blessed with a beautiful voice, he became a cantor and choir director at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic church in Lyndora for 48 years. Sang for many weddings and Flag Day ceremonies. With his wonderful friends in the Barbershop Harmony society, he totally enjoyed singing the harmonizing.
Family was so important. He deeply missed his lovely wife Dorothy Onufrak Lazar of sixty years whom he married in July 1954.
He leaves behind his beautiful daughter Frances Ann Lazar and son Arthur J. Lazar, his brothers Francis Lazar and Douglas (Virginia) Lazar, grandchildren Molly Lazar, Andrew (Nicole) Lazar, Amanda (fiancée Mike) Lazar, greatgrandchildren Lucas and Elliott Lazar and Violet Lionti.
He was preceded in death by a son William Lazar, brother Jack Lazar and his wife Sharleen, a daughter-in-law Katherine and sister-in-law Phillis.
He leaves behind many nieces and nephews from the Lazar and Onufrak and Jurysta families.

Friends will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic church, 105 Kohler Ave, Lyndora, PA. Rev. Radko Blichar, Pastor, will officiate.
A Parastas service will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral Home.
