Arthur Richard Pflugh, 92, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 8, 2023. at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born on October 16, 1931, in Franklin Twp, Pennsylvania, to the late Carl A. Pflugh and the late Marie E. Klepper Pflugh.
Arthur was a member of (Church of God Prophecy) Family Life Ministries. He worked as a meat cutter and manager at Shop N Save in Gibsonia until retiring in 1996. Arthur was associated with Clearview Pro Hardware. He was a member of the UFCW Union Local #23. Arthur was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in England for two years, during the Korean War. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
He is survived by one son, Rev. Donald B. and his wife, Ann K. Pflugh, of Butler, PA; one daughter, Kathleen L. and her husband, Robert M. Sloan, of Butler, PA; six grandchildren, Melissa, Lucas, and Jacob Pflugh, Nathaniel Sloan, Amanda Sloan Angiolieri, and Katie Sloan Collins; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Simmons of Butler, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janet L. Plyer Pflugh, who passed away on March 13, 1994; one sister, Audrey Bable; and two brothers, Carl Pflugh, and Ronnie Pflugh.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Family Life Ministries (Church of God of Prophecy), 932 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001 with Pastor Robert Hile, Jr., officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to Thompson – Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Dr. Ste 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Grane Hospice Care, 260 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
A private burial will take place at Summit Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
