County residents will have free access to a product that helps safely dispose of prescription drugs.
Sheriff Mike Slupe said his department secured a grant that allowed them to buy 200 bags of a product known as Deterra. He says the pouches allow residents to place pills, liquids, and patches into the bag—which then works to safely dissolve them.
Slupe also says that other county agencies have them available such as Drug and Alcohol and the Area Agency on Aging.
He says that interested residents can call those departments. He also says that the sheriff’s office will have them available at certain events.
