Pennsylvania’s top law enforcement official has reached a settlement with a large pest control company and some residents may be eligible for restitution.
Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced the agreement with Terminex to resolve allegations that the company failed to provide customers with copies of agreements and notices of cancellation at the time of sale as required by law.
Many customers complained to the Bureau of Consumer Protection that Terminex required them to sign when agreeing to services then told them they would receive a copy of the agreement by email but they never did.
This settlement includes nearly $19,000 in restitution for more than 200 Pennsylvania customers of Terminex. Affected customers will receive a check from the state in the coming months. Anyone who believes they might be entitled to restitution should file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection as soon as possible.
