A newly released audit shows that there could be an issue with the accuracy of voter registration records in Pennsylvania.
State Auditor General Eugene DePasquale said the audit revealed some possible inaccurate data.
“My audit found numerous instances of potentially bad data and sloppy record keeping with the SURE system,” DePasquale said. “In fact, my team’s data analysis found potential problems in 50,000 cases.”
The SURE system DePasquale mentions is the state’s registry of electors.
He believes the Department of State needs to work closely with counties to help improve record-keeping.
