The Pennsylvania Auditor General made a stop in Butler to talk about initiatives he’s taking in his office.
Tim DeFoor visited with Butler County Controller Ben Holland yesterday morning, laying out points that he believes are transforming the office.
DeFoor says his main job is to eliminate risks for the state and other entities, like volunteer fire companies.
DeFoor won the auditor general race in 2020, and since that time has focused on making audits more efficient, recruiting workers to his department, and trying to make financial literacy more widespread.
Holland says that DeFoor’s actions come from his background as a controller himself, ensuring that “every dollar matters.”
DeFoor has been visiting county controller offices to help spread word about his initiatives, and to hear from controllers in hoping to establish working relationships.
